TOURNAMENT DATES, LOCATION AND SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

A Captain’s Meeting will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 7:00 PM. At least 2 competitors from each team must attend the Captain’s Meeting. The location of the Captain’s meeting is at the Miami Yacht Club Marina, 1001 MacArthur Causeway. Miami, FL 33132. The Captain’s Meeting will serve a couple of different purposes; a last minute Question &Answer session regarding rules, as well as late registrations. Last minute rule changes can be instituted at the Captain’s Meeting.

The tournament will be held at Miami Yacht Club Marina starting Friday, June 11, 2010. Participants can spearfish until 5 Pm.  Saturday is resting day and and informative meeting about the tournament. The tournament continues on Sunday, June 13, 2010. Participants may spearfish into the afternoon but they must be back at 3:00 PM and their fish must be in the weight in area by 3:45 PM.

A raffle of the prizes from our Sponsors will be conducted at 3:00 PM after the informative meeting and lunch on Saturday t the Miami Yacht Club Marina.  The raffle is open to competitors and guests.

Sunday afternoon, after the Sunday weigh-in, will be the Award Ceremony and Trophy Presentation will be conducted at the Miami Yacht Club Marina.

A Sunday Night Celebration party will be held for all participants.  Please indicate on your registration form how many will attend the event and extra tickets are for sale at $10.00


TOURNAMENT PACKAGE

For each team, you will be provided a tournament package. It will include your Miami Persistent Open 2010 Spearfishing Tournament T-Shirt, cap, some gifts and the rules & regulations.


TEAM COMPETITION

Each team will be composed of a maximum of (4) people. Team of 2 plus boat captain and commissioner. Teams must spearfish as pair team in a single boat at any locations.

Each team can have a maximum of two fish weighted in each category for points an a maximum of fifteen fish per day . This is an aggregate style tournament and points will be awarded for each fish weighed. For example, a 20.4 Pound Grouper will be worth

20.4 Points. There is no maximum number of points for one fish. The team with the most combined points will win the Miami Persistent Open 2010 Open Spearfishing Tournament Team Competition.
